Electricity & heat

Green electricity and heat from sustainable source

Our hotel is only supplied with clean energy, with green South Tyrolean electricity from 100% renewable energy.

Electricity optimisation - We work with the ideal electricity-saving concept. All electro-thermal appliances, such as laundry machines, dishwashers and all kitchen appliances are connected to this optimisation. This control strategy enables us to reduce electricity peaks by around 20%.

Heat from wood - Our heat is environmentally friendly and comes 100% from the Ulten forests. The heat comes from the nearby heating plant and is channelled to our hotel via district heating. Water is used as the transfer medium.

Drinking water

The Ultental spring water

The Ultental Valley has excellent drinking water. Numerous springs bring the raw water to us via a drinking water pipeline. It flows from all taps and is available free of charge in the hotel and throughout the valley.

We charge € 2 for the service of 0.75 litres of water.
Of this amount, we donate € 1 to the local aid organisation Südtirol hilft/South Tyrol helps for charitable purposes.
In the summer season 2023 we donated €1,856.

The Unterpichl cuisine

Products from local producers

Our products come from local farmers, as well as from regional sources, exclusively from South Tyrolean suppliers. Fruit and vegetables are of high and selected quality and, where possible, of regional origin. Fresh herbs, teas, herbal salt and all beauty products come from the nearby Wegleit herb realm. All types of bread for our rich breakfast are baked every day directly in the Ultental Valley at Bio-Ultnerbrot.
